Saddle Up for Fall Programs at Ebony Horsewomen

Junior Mounted Patrol members

Learning leadership, discipline, and horsemanship

As the incoming fall season hovers over Keney Park, it’s the perfect time for young people to build confidence, leadership skills, and community spirit through horses. At Ebony Horsewomen Equestrian and Therapeutic Center, our fall programs are about more than just riding. They’re about learning responsibility, building character, and cultivating a sense of community with their peers.

Whether your child is new to equestrian life or looking to expand their skills, our fall line-up starts soon and has something meaningful to offer:

🌟 Weekend Academy

An introduction for young people who want to experience horses and learn about other animals. This program also teaches our young participants about computers, public speaking, cooking, art, gardening, and environmental science. Our program activities encourage community involvement and promote quality life experiences.

🐎 Junior Mounted Patrol Program

A one-of-a-kind program that empowers young men to take on real responsibility. JMP members learn Western riding skills while training young men to be productive members of their community through service as they volunteer as park rangers for Hartford’s historic 693-acre Keney Park and participate in parades.

🎓 Leadership Academy & Riding Team

For young women ready to take their equestrian journey to the next level, this program combines advanced riding with leadership development. Young women become part of a close-knit team where dedication, accountability, and skill-building prepare them for future opportunities, on horseback and in other areas.

At Ebony Horsewomen, we believe in nurturing leaders. Our programs are designed to support youth not only in horsemanship, but in character, confidence, and connection.
